Data center real estate investment trust Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT announced on Tuesday it has acquired the 6 Sigma Center data center in Philadelphia’s Byberry Industrial Park from CSX Corporation for $65 million.
The purchase joins the real estate investment firm’s other acquisitions announced this year, including two mission critical data center properties for $45.5 million and a 33,000-square-foot data center in Norcross, Georgia for $5.3 million.
Located on 2000 Kubach Road, the two-story, 121,000-square-foot flex building was built in 1993 on 14 acres in the Greater Northeast area of Philadelphia.
The data center was designed to house data center equipment, adhering to strict reliability and security standards which allows it to withstand any extreme weather conditions such as hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes.
