Facebook has put on “temporary hold” its plans to let apps access users’ mobile phone number and home address, the company announced on its developer blog.

      The social network had announced Friday that it will allow apps to request for those bits of information.

      But its plans have been iced when it got “some useful feedback that we could make people more clearly aware of when they are granting access to this data”, Facebook’s Douglas Purdy wrote on the blog.

      “We are making changes to help ensure you only share this information when you intend to do so,” Purdy wrote.

      Facebook didn’t give a definite date when the feature will be fully implemented, saying instead it will be rolled out “in the next few weeks”.
