International cruise specialists ecruising.travel have become Australia's first travel-based organisation to win one of the annual Hong Kong Australia Business Awards.

Chairman Brett Dudley has revealed that his company was the winner of one of just six of the prestigious awards at a function held in Sydney at the Four Seasons Hotel on Friday night.

ecruising.travel won the contribution to industry award sponsored by Qantas.

The award is for achievement through global contributions to industry by an organisation in New South Wales.

Entrants to the competition must be exporters or importers of goods or services between Australia and Hong Kong SAR/China.

ecruising.travel has become a leader in the Australian cruise industry since it was established in January 2000.

The company has offices in Sydney and Hong Kong, employs 21 people between the two offices and each year sends thousands of Australians on a variety of sea voyages all over the world including Hong Kong.

Accepting the award at Friday's function Mr Dudley said, “After winning the City of Sydney awards last year and now recognised by HKABA, it proves we are not just a travel agency, we have a solid business that stacks up against any type of company or business in Australia and is a compliment to our staff who work very hard to keep us at the forefront of the cruise industry".

He continued to say that after opening their Hong Kong office late 2008, the Hong Kong Government has been very supportive ecruising.travel and a pleasure to work with.
