Colo provider QTS announced the expansion of its data center infrastructure on Thursday, noting it had acquired a 92 thousand square feet facility in the Northern California area from provider Herakles.
Discussing the matter in a press release, QTS CEO Chad Williams called Herakles a “great company.”
“The acquisition of this technologically advanced data center adds a strategically located asset to our portfolio. Located just 120 miles north of our Santa Clara, Calif., data center and less than 90 miles from San Francisco, this facility expands our Northern California presence and offers California-based and national customers in each facility regional disaster recovery options as well as colocation and cloud services,” Williams went on to say.
Among the features of the data center is raised floor space accounting for 52,600 square feet, a power capacity of 9.0 megawatts and Tier III compliancy.
Across the U.S., QTS owns a number of other data centers in cities including Santa Clara, Atlanta, Miami and Richmond.
