Internet security provider Comodo announced on Tuesday that it has released a new version of its Comodo Endpoint Security Manager.
Comodo Endpoint Security Manager 2.1 is used to coordinate threat protection on local and remote endpoints from a centralized web-based browser console.
The new version includes a web-based user interface that works with touchscreen devices, dashboard with Active Tiles which provides color-coded real-time event notification with configurable email alerts and a new report manager that includes on-demand reports, report queuing and report archiving.
The ability to manage security remotely from a tablet or phone is critical as the devices become more popular in the workplace. According to a recent report by Cisco, a tablet is requested by 21 percent of the workforce in the US, and 90 percent of IT managers believe tablets will become more popular over the next two years.
Web hosts have offered Comodo security products in the past, including SSL certificates, by joining its partner program.
“Comodo is known for breaking ground in Internet security with a unique approach to protecting users,” Melih Abdulhayoglu, CEO of Comodo said in a statement. “Defense+ HIPS goes beyond traditional Host Intrusion Protection Software to stop viruses and malware before they enter endpoints. In fact we’re so sure Comodo provides the best protection against viruses that Endpoint Security Manager is backed by an industry exclusive Limited Virus-Free Guarantee.”
Endpoint Security Manager version 2.1 includes advanced policy management, and does not require a dedicated server since it can be installed on Windows PCs or Windows servers and managed from any PC via any popular browser.
This release comes three months after Comodo announced support for OSCP-stapling to improve the NGINX open source web server.
In April Comodo released its malware scanning and blacklist monitoring solution SiteInspector.
