In an article in ZDNet today, writer Zack Whittaker provides some very interesting information about the U.S. trying to extradite a 23-year-old student Richard O’Dwyer, over his TV-Shack website which allegedly offered links ~ not content itself ~ to unlicensed streams of television programs and Hollywood films elsewhere on the web.
Summary: “UK-US extradition policy is under scrutiny, after a UK student with a pirate link-only website could face trial in the U.S., even though his alleged crimes were not committed there.”
A decision on whether to extradite Richard will be handed down Friday January 13th 2012.
