TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, Feb. 9 (PIA) -- To further improve the services and operations rendered by various offices at the Capitol, the provincial government will be investing in full computer automation in the next couple of months.

Jo-ann Nazareno-Loyola, chief of the Provincial Information and Community Affairs Department, said the full automation of the respective offices are one of the priorities set by Governor Juanito “Jonvic” Remulla, Jr.

“Modernization is one of the priorities of the administration and the governor wanted it going, first with the computerization program set at the capitol,” Loyola said.

Loyola explained that the administration will be using the so called Domain Name System (DNS) or centralized automation procedure for efficient and effective office operations and services.

The Domain Name System or DNS is a system that stores information about host names and domain names in a kind of distributed database on networks, such as the Internet. Most importantly, it provides an IP address for each host name, and lists the mail exchange servers accepting email for each domain.

The DNS provides a vital service on the Internet, because while computers and network hardware work with IP addresses to perform tasks such as addressing and routing, humans generally find it easier to work with host names and domain names, for example in URLs and e-mail addresses. The DNS therefore mediates between the needs and preferences of wetware and of software.

Loyola said that with DNS in operations, allsocial networking like Facebook and games will be blocked by the system.

Loyola concludes that the DNS is a project of Governor Remulla and it will be in operation the soonest possible time. (PIA-Cavite)
