Office politics just got a little more exciting, thanks to a new development which encourages internet users to rank their colleagues and vent their frustration - or shower their praise - online.

      The website is called CubeDuel and according to an ABC News report, it encourages co-workers to rank each other in a "friendly and collegial" manner, within the context of an online game.

      Users are asked to provide information on their current and former colleagues. They are then invited to rank each, in order of preference, as well as ranking them in one-on-one match-ups. In order to add to the website's overall usability, once a user ranks several co-workers, they are allowed to see how they too have been rated by their colleagues.

      Tony Wright, CubeDuel's founder, told ABC News that while his website encourages ranking co-workers by order of preference, it expects feedback on others that "isn't necessarily mean."

      In order to access CubeDuel, users must log-on using their LinkedIn account. This allows the system to collect essential employment history information on colleagues and co-workers.

      Each user is able to click on co-workers who they consider to be their favourites. Once this starts happening, users can see how many times they too have been "liked" by their colleagues and peers.

      In order to find out just how popular you are at your workplace, CubeDuel requires all users to vote on at least 20 pairs of past or current co-workers, before uncovering their individual rating.
