The online geo-location social game Foursquare will start running items from Examiner.com next to locations where Foursquare users check in.

      Online website company PaidContent.org reports that Foursquare users’ mobile feeds will feature reviews from Examiner.com, a Denver-based online information service.

      New York City-based Foursquare is a two-year-old mobile software game that encourages users to check in from certain public locations on their mobile phones to tell people where they are and to share information about the venue.

      Businesses can offer promotions to Foursquare’s 5 million users that they can earn by checking in from there.

      Examiner.com generates content — news, announcements, reviews and blog entries — from its network of 68,000 self-employed writers, or “examiners,” in more than 240 markets. It has 1,830 writers in the Denver area.

      It registered 14 million unique visitors in November, according to online metrics service comScore.

      Examiner.com is a unit of Denver-based Clarity Media Group, the holding company of billionaire Philip Anschutz’s news-media and Internet businesses.

      Last month, it announced Examiner.com will be among the partners providing content to Thomson Reuters’ newswire in the United States.
