Foursquare Surpasses 1 Million Photo Check-ins

      Foursquare said in a statement today that over a million photos have been uploaded to its service by the week ended January 9, 2011.

      The 1 millionth photo was checked-in by Emmanuel E. from Paris, Foursquare recognized (here). "Our next goal, 1,000,000,000, (photos uploaded) will take a bit longer…" the company’s spokesperson said.

      Location-based service Foursquare currently has more than 5 million registered users, and is growing at a rate of (at least) 1 million new registered users each month.

      Foursquare photos and comments feature is currently available only for Desktop, Android and iPhone users. This feature for Blackberry App is said to be in the works.
