North Korea’s next leader Kim Jong Eun’s birthday has been celebrated by hackers by taking over the communist country’s Twitter and YouTube accounts.
“Let’s create a new world by rooting out our people’s sworn enemy Kim Jong Il and his son Kim Jong Eun!” said one of the Tweets from North Korea’s @Uriminzok account, as translated by South Korean news agency Yonhap.
As the Twitter account was in the hands of hackers, Tweets came out denouncing the country’s leader for his drinking parties and nuclear weapons development “while 3 million people are starving and freezing to death.”
According to various reports, the North’s YouTube account posted a new video about the same time as the tweets came out. The video depicts Kim Jong Il’s son and next in line Kim Jong Eun, driving a sports car and running people over.
However, according to analysts, the tweets and the video will likely not damage the Kim Jong Il’s and Kim Jong Eun’s image in their own country as internet access in the territory is strictly prohibited and monitored.
