    Headquartered in Houston, Texas, HostGator has more than 225,000 shared, reseller and dedicated customers.

    Formed in 2002, HostGator says its 4 million domains make up approximately 1 percent of the world's Internet traffic.

    The company manages more than 7,000 Intel-powered servers running Linux CentOS.
