Cloud storage startup Panzura announced on Friday it has successfully raised $25 million in Series D funding to further develop its cloud storage solution.

The move comes 18 months after Panzura added full support for Scality RING Organic Storage infrastructure, improving its comprehensive public and private cloud storage solution for globally-distributed enterprises.

Panzura provides enterprises with a cloud-integrated storage system that offers network attached storage functionality, native cloud support, a globally distributed file system, built-in FIPS 140-2 certified security and data protection, and a high speed data transfer rates to and from the cloud.

The company has been growing rapidly in the past couple years, with its customer base increasing by 700 percent in 2012.

Panzura says it is currently managing the largest number of petabytes among its customers.

The latest funding round was led by Meritech Capital Partners with participation from its existing investors Matrix Partners, Khosla Ventures, Opus Capital and Chevron Technology Ventures.
